The Air Force Necklace is a very faithful and detailed miniature of the beret badge made of genuine silver. The beret badge for the Air Force is worn on blue berets and has been used by the armed forces since 2002.
History
As the Air Force developed, the need for ground-based countermeasures against enemy aircraft was soon realized. In connection with the defense decision of 1925, the artillery began to organize anti-aircraft companies. The Karlsborg Artillery Corps (A 10) was reorganized in 1928 into the Karlsborg Artillery Regiment (A 9). Through the defense decision of 1936, the air defense was given a more independent position within the artillery, and was separated from the artillery to form its own squadron in 1942.
In connection with the air defense becoming more independent in the late 1930s, the Östgöta Air Defense Artillery Regiment (A 10) was formed in 1938. The two regiments, namely A 9 and A 10, became the backbone of the air defense in Sweden, and of the air defense units that were set up between 1941 and 1942.
Today, the air defense consists of Lv6 in Halmstad, which provides both training and combat units within the squadron.
