The engineer troops are represented today by the Göta Engineer Regiment in Eksjö. The regiment has its origins in the Sapper Battalion, which was raised between 1873 and 1878 in Stockholm and then transferred to Karlsborg Fortress.
The battalion was recruited until 1885 when it began to receive conscripts. In 1892 the battalion changed its name to the Göta Engineering Battalion and through the 1901 military regulations the troop was organized into four corps. Svea Engineering Corps (Ing 1), Göta Engineering Corps (Ing 2) and Boden Engineering Corps (Ing 4) as well as the Field Telegraph Corps (Ing 3).
The necklace is made of silver which is then gilded with a durable layer of real gold to give the same feel as the beret badge. The beret badge has been worn by the soldiers within the squad since 2002 when the squad was awarded the dark blue beret with the beret badge.
This necklace is carefully crafted and comes with a necklace in a black jewelry case adorned with the golden troop badge.
